From checkout to your hands
A SurShipp account turns any online store into one that ships to Suriname. Here is exactly what happens at each stage.
- 1
Create your free account
Sign up in about two minutes. You immediately receive a unique Customer ID — something like SRP-10284 — which identifies every package that belongs to you.
Your Customer ID is the single most important thing to remember. It goes on the suite line of every address you use.
- 2
Get your forwarding addresses
Your dashboard shows a real street address in the United States and in the Netherlands, free of charge. Copy the recipient name exactly as shown — at checkout the name is what tells us the package is yours and whether it should fly or sail.
Tap Copy Address and paste it straight into any store's shipping form. Your Customer ID is already in the suite line.
- 3
Shop like a local
Buy from Amazon, bol.com, AliExpress or anywhere else, and ship to your SurShipp address. If a store will not take your card, our personal shopper team buys it for you instead.
Tip: send us a pre-alert with the tracking number so we can match your package the moment it arrives.
- 4
We receive and process it
When your package reaches our warehouse we photograph it, weigh it, measure it and log it against your Customer ID. You get a notification the same day.
Photos are visible in your dashboard, so you can confirm the right item arrived before it ships onward.
- 5
Consolidate if you want to
Bought from several stores? Select the packages in your dashboard and request a consolidation. We repack them into one shipment so you pay to ship once.
Consolidation usually makes the biggest difference on sea freight, where you are charged by volume.
- 6
We ship to Suriname
Your package joins the next air or sea shipment to Paramaribo. Your dashboard shows the departure date, the estimated arrival and a live status timeline.
Air freight arrives in days; sea freight takes longer but costs considerably less for anything bulky.
- 7
Settle your invoice
We issue an itemised invoice covering freight, plus our service fee if we did the buying for you. There is no handling fee on goods you ordered yourself. You can view and pay it from the Invoices section of your dashboard.
Customs duties and taxes are set by the Surinamese authorities and are payable separately on collection.
- 8
Collect your package
Once your shipment clears customs we mark it Ready for Pickup and let you know. Come to our Paramaribo office with your Customer ID and identification.
Bring the same ID you registered with. If someone else is collecting on your behalf, tell us in advance.
What is a pre-alert?
Telling us in advance that a package is on its way, with the carrier tracking number, so we can match it to your account instantly instead of investigating an unlabelled box.
How will I know it arrived?
You get an in-app notification and an email at each stage — received, processing, departed, arrived in Suriname and ready for pickup. You control which channels you want.
